As winter approaches, the temperature drops sharply. When the ambient temperature falls below 5℃, various water system equipment and pipes of the central air conditioning system are highly prone to damage due to freezing. Especially in northern regions, such freezing damage not only significantly shortens the service life of the equipment, increases the maintenance costs and replacement frequency, but also effectively implementing the winter anti-freezing measures for the central air conditioning system is of great importance. Host water system anti-freezing: Zone control, precise measures

The host water system is applicable to various types of equipment such as water-cooled/fan-cooled screw, centrifugal, and magnetic levitation machines. For the anti-freezing work of the host water system, the protective measures need to be flexibly adjusted according to whether the equipment is powered on or not, in order to achieve precise anti-freezing.

When the equipment is not used for a long time and the power is disconnected

Host protection

Firstly, close the valves at the inlet and outlet of the condenser and evaporator pipes. This operation can effectively prevent water from flowing into the host from the pipes and avoid ice formation inside the host due to water accumulation. Then, open the drain valve/burden of the bottom of the unit and the manual exhaust valve/burden at the top to allow the water in the host to drain naturally. After the water flow basically stops, use compressed air or nitrogen to blow dry the interior of the host to ensure that the residual moisture inside is completely removed. Finally, close the water system valve, but do not reinstall the unit burden to facilitate subsequent maintenance and inspection. 

Pump and pipeline protection

It is crucial to keep the chilled water/cooling water pipelines unobstructed. Open the drainage valve at the lowest point of the system to drain all the water in the pipelines, then close the relevant valves to prevent moisture from the outside air from entering the pipelines again.

Cooling tower protection

The cooling tower is one of the areas prone to water accumulation in the main water system. When the system is not in use for a long time due to power outages, completely drain the internal water in the cooling tower at the lowest point to eliminate the risk of freezing. At the same time, clean and inspect the inside of the cooling tower to ensure it can operate normally in the next use.

When powered on

When the main unit is powered on, ensure that the water system is always filled with water to maintain the stable operation of the system. Set the pump and the unit in a linkage mode to make the pump's operation synchronized with the unit's operation. At the same time, activate the anti-freezing function of the unit itself to use the equipment's own automatic protection mechanism to resist the influence of low-temperature environments, ensuring that the main unit can operate safely and stably in winter.
